Lone Star Athletics Student/Athlete's
Darius Anderson - has been on the Dean's list since his arrival at the University of Memphis where he has declared Physics as his major. Darius competes in both hurdle events (110H and 400IH) where he was an All-Conference performer in his freshman and sophomore year.
Elana Edwards - Elana is currently ranked 2nd in her senior class at Bowie High School and has been accepted to attend Rice University in Houston,TX, Trinity University in San Antonio as well as many others. She has chosen to attend Trinity University where she will tentatively major in math and compete in track and field. She has qualified for two different events to represent Texas at the AAU Junior Olympics in both the 1500M and high jump. Elana's personal best include 5'4 high jump and 5:12.28 in the 1500M. Most recently, Elana was selected to compete at the 2009 Texas Relays in the high jump and DMR and will compete in the high jump at the Region 4-5A Championship in San Antonio, TX.
Bailey Johnson - Bailey has been setting records since arriving at Dripping Springs High School two years ago. She as advanced to the 4A Texas State Championships her first two years at DSH. She has gone to State in four events, long/triple jumps, 100H and 300H for which she holds the Region 4 record. In her first year running the 800M, Bailey advanced to the 2009 AAU Junior Olympics in Des Moines, IA finishing 22nd in her age group. Bailey also made the National Youth Elite Honor finishing 63rd in the nation in the 800M. This honor goes to athlete's who finish in the top 100 in their age group for any event they compete in during the year.

Elana is second in her senior class and will attend Trinity University, Hana is in the top 3% of her class and Donte will attend Rice University and compete in football and track and field. All three will be competing in their 2009 Regional Track and Field Championships.
Victoria Noetzel - has been accepted to attend Williams College in Williamstown, MA. Victoria is currently an honors student at Lake Travis High School where she shines both in the classroom and track. As a senior, Victoria is ranked in the top 5% of her class. Victoria will compete at the Regional Championship in the long/triple jumps and 400m.
Heinz Schwartzkopf - made the Southland Conference Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll as a freshman and sophomore while competing in Cross Country, Track and Field at the University of Texas at Arlington. Heinz is a Biology major who will attend medical school. As of May 2009, Heinz will be working on an assignment in Kenya for 10 weeks pertaining to his major. Heinz has a personal best of 1:53.72 in the 800M.
Hana Setterquist - has been equally as impressive in both the classroom and track. Hana is currently ranked in the top 3% of her sophomore class making the All District Academic Team. On the track, Hana was the 25-5A district champ in the 100M as a freshman. As a sophomore her personal bests include 25.64, 58.32 and 2:24.36 in the 200, 400 and 800M respectively. She will compete in the 200, 400 and mile relay at the Region 4-5A championship in San Antonio, TX. Hana posted a personal best FAT 400 of 58.32 in the prelims. Hana qualified for the 2009 AAU Junior Olympic Championships in Des Moines, IA in both the 400M and 800M in her first year of summer track. Hana left Des Moines as the 13th best 800M athlete in her age group and the 32nd ranked quarter miler in her age group. Hana finishes the summer ranked as the 56th best 800M runner in the nation in her age group. Hana made the National Youth Elite Honor roll as being one of the top 100 half milers in the country in her age group.
Dakota Stewart - After earning All-Southland Conferences honors in the 400 intermediate hurdles and 800M indoors as a freshman, she was forced to red-shirt her sophomore indoor season due to an inury. She has maintained high academic standings and is looking forward to a strong junior season at Sam Houston State University. Dakota was a 4 time AAU Junior Olympic qualifier in the 400 intermediate hurdles and 2 time AAU Junior Olympic qualifier in the 800M.
